three weeks
I won’t wake up on Saturday mornings to the smell of coffee, scrambled eggs, and pan de sal. There won’t be multiple rooms to relax in, a patio to grill on, and a velvet sofa to unwind on. The streets won’t be as quiet. The air won’t be as spacious. The trees won’t be as green.
But the pace will be quicker. My dream career will be much closer. The cars will be faster, the train tracks will rattle louder, and my focus will be tighter.
I’ll miss it here. Virginia will always be my home. I’ve been fortunate enough to be raised in such a loving family, with two brothers and two precious parents, that it’s undeniably hard to let go. But I’ve dreamt of New York for years, almost a decade… i’s something I just have to do. My gut tells me that there’s no better way for me to become the woman I intend to be.
I have less than three weeks, collectively, to enjoy my life as I know it here.
Those rose-colored glasses you look through when you know you’re about to transition your life as you know it into something bigger, better…
